That was the focus of Stockport MDC’s UKREiiF In Conversation event with Caroline Simpson, Greater Manchester Combined Authority’s Group Chief Executive, and Lord Gavin Barwell, our recently appointed Chair.
The discussion explored what underpins Stockport MDC’s success in delivering the UK’s largest town centre regeneration, from the importance of creating genuine pride in place to ensuring regeneration connects homes to infrastructure and opportunity, delivering lasting benefits for both new and existing communities. Lord Barwell also reflected on the challenges of delivering regeneration at scale, and the growing potential for the MDC model to be replicated more widely.
