Stopford Park

A sustainable neighbourhood blending heritage, new build and community space

Stopford Park

Overview

Stopford Park is a 442‑home development transforming the former Stockport College campus into a vibrant, mixed‑use neighbourhood. Located at the corner of Greek Street and Wellington Road, the scheme combines new homes for rent and sale with enhanced public realm, including a landscaped Art Park featuring installations from local artists. Delivered by Cityheart, the development also sees the restoration of the Grade II-listed former Arts College into a flexible co‑working space, creating a place where heritage, creativity and modern living come together.

  • 442 homes across three residential buildings
  • Landscaped Art Park with public space and art installations
  • Grade II-listed Arts College restored as a co-working space

Three principle buildings with homes to rent and buy

Stopford Park brings together heritage restoration and new build development within a single, integrated scheme. The Torkington building is being converted into 122 homes for rent, while Lyme will be a new 16‑storey residential building delivering 258 apartments for rent. A third building, Bosden, will provide 62 homes for sale and is the first phase to complete in 2026. Alongside this, the Grade II-listed former Arts College is being carefully restored into a collaborative co‑working space, ensuring the site’s historic charm is reimagined for future generations.

Sustainability and heritage working together

Sustainability sits at the heart of Stopford Park, bringing together low‑carbon retrofit, high-quality new homes, green space and the repurposing of historic buildings. Cityheart, the team behind the award‑winning Stockport Interchange, is delivering a landscaped Art Park that connects the residential buildings and links neighbouring cultural assets, including the War Memorial Art Gallery. By combining homes with heritage, cultural space and flexible workspaces, Stopford Park will create a place where people can live, work and spend time, supporting a vibrant, well-connected and creative town centre community.
